GOAL 5: Improve Quality of Life by Raising Municipal Service Standards
Description

This is for Contract Modification No. 2, an engineering agreement with Thomas & Hutton Engineering for the Ogeechee Road Water and Sewer Relocation project in the amount of $200,418.00.

The original contract was for engineering and design services for water and sewer relocation on Ogeechee Road. The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) is widening Ogeechee Road and making intersection improvements from I-516 to Victory Drive. This construction impacts numerous water and sewer mains, requiring their relocation. Utility construction by a GDOT contractor began in April 2024 and has yet to be completed. Modification No. 2 is necessary to provide additional funds to continue observation, as the original agreement only provided for 48 months of construction observation.

The original contract was approved on the July 20, 2017, Council Meeting (WT-140 – Large Tract Infrastructure) in the amount of $240,822. The first modification was approved on March 24, 2022, on the Council Agenda for $83,100. The total amount of this contract, including modification No. 2 will be $524,340.
