23. Authorize the City Manager to Execute Contract Modification No. 1 for Polymers with Polydyne, Inc. in an Amount Not to Exceed $103,000. (Water Reclamation)

Description

This is for Contract Modification No. 1 for Polymers from Polydyne, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $103,000. This modification is needed to provide adequate funding to meet the needs of the remainder of the contract term. The polymer is used by the Water Reclamation Plant to coagulate raw water and dewater sludge to form a solid, making it easier to handle, dewater, and dispose of in a landfill. Two polymers are being used for raw water treatment and sludge dewatering to remove excess water from the water clarification process. A million pounds of wet sludge are hauled to landfill each year.

This annual contract was originally approved by Council on April 10, 2025, for $120,000.  The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $223,000.00.
