Strategic Priority
GOAL 4:  Develop World Class Livable Environment & Infrastructure
Description

This is for an Annual Contract for City-Wide Overhaul of the Sewer Conveyance Monitoring Infrastructure with Utility Solutions & Automation, LLC in an amount not to exceed $2,451,400.

Since the Clean Water Act in 1972, Savannah has been continuously adapting, improving, and expanding our sanitary sewer systems. With the continuous expansion and growth of the City, the tools and methods that are used to manage the system need to modernize and improve to maintain world class infrastructure. Our system currently contains approximately 1 million feet of force main, over 200 lift stations, and 4 million feet of gravity main spread out over 110 square miles across all of Chatham County. All of this infrastructure is subject to maintenance needs. As the numbers continue to grow at increasing rates; the regulatory and public expectations for level of service also rise. In order to manage the current and future system, without expanding labor challenges, we need to look at increasing the scale of what is now industry standard remote monitoring systems. Incorporating this technology into the current toolbox for Water Resources not only allows City Staff to have a pulse on the infrastructure as a whole, but allows refined efficiency in engineering projects, operations resource allocation, precise master-planning, and data-driven diagnoses. Introducing tools to optimize available staff time translates to a force multiplier for effectiveness and productivity across Water Resources.

The Request for Proposal (RFP) Event No. 12138 was publicly advertised, and two (2) proposals were received. Proposals were evaluated by a committee of City staff based on qualifications & project experience, proposed product & project approach, implementation plan & Support and cost. Utility Solutions & Automation, LLC has demonstrated experience with projects of similar size and scope and has confirmed its ability to meet the requirements of the project.
