Georgia Code O.C.G.A. 36-37-6(c) provides the City with the authority to exchange real property, provided the property received is equal to or greater in value than the property being granted.

Staff is seeking Council’s authorization to trade 112.5 square feet within the Barnard Street right-of-way for three small areas of land totaling 138.5 square feet of adjoining SCAD property located on the block south of Victory Drive, between Montgomery and Barnard Street. These three areas of land (64 SF, 29 SF, and 45.5 SF) would be used by the City to improve pedestrian access in the area.  This SCAD property is slated for a student housing development known as Victory Village. 

Further staff is requesting authorization for the City Manager to execute all associated closing documents and deeds.
