Title 5. Motion to Authorize the City Manager to Execute Contract Modification No. 1 with the Basin Company for the River Street Visitor Center in the Amount of $6,042.95 (Event No. 6713)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval of Contract Amendment No. 1 for interior rehabilitation of the River Street Visitor Center with The Basin Company in the amount of $6,042.95. The original contract was for the interior rehabilitation, update, and repair of the Visitor Center on River Street. Interior repairs included, but were not limited to, the renovation of the restrooms floors and wall finishes; ceilings were assessed, repaired, primed and painted; installation of new plumbing fixtures; restroom accessories; toilet and urinal partitions; new countertops, sinks; welcome center lighting fixtures; and door hinges limited to all interior metal doors. It became evident to the contractor and staff, as the plumbing fixtures were being installed and tested, that the backflow preventer were failing. This failure prohibited the water from being turned off to the building. This action will repair the backflow preventer, and fix the issue. The contract was originally approved by Council on February 28, 2019 in the amount of $117,558.55. The total amount of this contract to date, including this amendment, is $123,601.50.
