Description Recommend approval to of Contract Modification No. 1 for the Truman Linear Park Trail for additional engineering services to Thomas & Hutton Engineering Company in the amount of $47,000. This modification includes structural engineering services related to the existing 52nd Street bridge. As a GDOT funded project, the City’s funding responsibility and local match requirement is 20% of the total value of this contract modification. Therefore, the City’s fiscal responsibility for this modification is $9,400. This service ensures the Trail is designed, built, and operated in a way that provides a safe and efficient route for automobiles and trail users crossing the 52nd Street bridge. The modification includes shifting of existing lanes to accommodate the addition of a multi-use trail on the north side of the structure. No widening of the bridge is required as part of this modification. The work will be completed within the existing outside walls of the bridge, and will be coordinated with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), which is funding 80% of the project. | |
