Title 19. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for an Emergency Generator at Lift Station 31 with Cummins Power South for $28,411. Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description This is for the purchase of an emergency generator for lift station 31 from Cummins Power South in the amount of $28,411. The existing emergency power generator at Lift Station 31 in Alpine Park was destroyed by bad weather. The generator is used as a backup in case of a power outage. This generator will allow the lift station to continue to convey sewage to the treatment plant preventing sanitary sewer overflows or environmental and public health issues. Without the functional generator, Sanitary Sewage Overflows (SSO) and sewage could back up into residences making this a public health concern. Backup generators are required at each of the City’s 213 lift stations to provide a backup power source in the event of an emergency.
This purchase will be made using the Sourcewell Cooperative Contract No. 120617-CMM. The contract expires on January 29, 2023. The City of Savannah’s purchasing ordinance Section 2-4152 authorizes the use of cooperative purchasing agreements. Delivery As needed. Terms: Net 30 days C.P. Cummins Power South (Port Wentworth, GA) (D) $28,410.90 (D) Indicates a non-local, non-DBE owned business.
