This is to procure a 750 Kilowatt Generator for Lift Station 65 from Cummins Sales and Service in the amount of $260,187. This emergency generator will replace the 30-year-old generator at Lift Station 65 located in Bacon Park. This generator supports a lift station that conveys over 4,000,000 gallons per day of sewage to the President St. Wastewater Treatment Plant via the lift station. Simultaneous utility power failure and failure of the station’s mechanical bypass pump would result in a major sanitary sewer overflow. By design, all City of Savannah major lift stations (flow rates of 450,000 GPD or more) have both emergency power generators and mechanical bypass pumps in place. This purchase will be made through the Sourcewell cooperative price agreement contract #092222-CMM. 

The contract was competitively bid by Sourcewell and awarded to Cummins Inc. The contract expires on November 11, 2026. The City of Savannah’s purchasing ordinance Section 2-4152 authorizes the use of cooperative purchasing agreements.
