10. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for the Purchase of Wastewater Sludge Disposal Chemicals for the City's Water Reclamation Facility on President Street in an Amount Not to Exceed $200,000. This system adds chemicals to the treated wastewater to solidify sludge so it can be removed from the water treatment process for disposal. The chemicals will be used by the Water Reclamation Department to assist with the sludge processing and disposal process. (Water Reclamation)

Description

This is a contract for sludge disposal chemicals for the President Street and Regional Plants from Colonial Chemicals in an amount not to exceed $200,000. The odor control system is composed of a dual-stage chemical scrubber utilizing sulfuric Acid, caustic (sodium hydroxide), and bleach (sodium hypochlorite) to effectively remove odorous compounds (ammonia) from the air stream. The President Street and Regional Plants are requesting the chemicals to be used in conjunction with the two-stage scrubber in addition to membrane cleaning at the regional plants. Colonial Chemical Solutions is the only bidder to bid on all required items.
