Description

This purchase is for the rebuilding of the polychem chain and flight sludge collection system from Brentwood Industries in an amount not to exceed $202,900. The system removes inner material from the wastewater that cannot be broken down biologically in order to go to the next phase of the water treatment process. Three primary clarifiers at the Water Reclamation Plant on President Street are composed of but not limited to flights, head shafts, wear shoes, sprockets, bearings, etc. which are required components for this syetm to work properly. The primary clarifiers are the first step in the treatment process to remove suspended solids, oils, and grease before entering the biological treatment process. The department maintains a stock of these compnents to rebuild the clarifier each year, in preparation for heavy rain events and optimal removal efficiency. Failure to have stock on hand can result in decreased capacity within the treatment facility, as well as permit deviations if high flow events occur. This is a sole-source purchase because Brentwood Industries is the system’s only supplier of repair parts and changing the vendor would create the need for a costly major overhaul. This contract will expire On April 12, 2024. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
