Staff is requesting an amendment to the previously approved purchase of hold room seating. The original approval was for the purchase of 131 total seats, including power kits for charging capabilities on every other seat within the proposed Gate 1 area, as part of the Security Checkpoint Expansion Project. The initial approval specified National Office Systems as the vendor, with a total cost of $204,787, inclusive of delivery and installation upon project completion. Due to a change in the state contract requirements, it is now necessary to amend the original purchase agreement. The direct payment and purchase will be shifted from National Office Systems to Herman Miller, Inc. This adjustment is mandated by the new state contract provisions for Herman Miller, Inc., stipulating that all items must be directly purchased through the manufacturer rather than through the dealer. The airport seeks approval for this amendment to ensure compliance with state contract obligations and to proceed with the acquisition of the necessary seating for the Gate 1 area within the timeframe of the Security Checkpoint Expansion Project.
