This contract is for the procurement of eight (8) rear loader chassis from Battle Motors c/o Crane Carrier Company in the amount of $1,430,624. The rear loader truck chassis will be used by the Sanitation Department's Residential Refuse and Recycling & Litter Services Division. Seven (7) of the rear loader chassis are planned FY24 replacements that will be replacing units 5734, 5735, 5736, 5737, 5738, 5739, and 5740. One (1) of the rear loader chassis will be a fleet addition for the Recycling & Litter Services that was approved in FY23. The rear loader chassis is designed to provide safe ergonomic cabs that are low entry, provide seating for four employees, and allow for ease of access safely.  

The competitive bid process was not utilized because Sourcewell contract # 060920-CRN provided reasonable pricing when compared with previous years. Per section 2-4152 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a cooperative contract. Therefore, staff recommends procuring the eight (8) rear loader chassis utilizing the Sourcewell contract. The contract expires on August 1, 2024. Delivery: As requested. Terms: Net 30 days.
