Description

The Savannah Airport Commission recommends approval to Execute Contractor/Operator Agreement for Phase II of the Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) Integration at SAV with Woolpert, Inc., NTE $150,000. The Commission entered into a Contractor/Operator Agreement with Woolpert, Inc. for Phase I of the UAS Integration Services in May 2016. During Phase I, Woolpert provided Staff consulting services and worked with the FAA to support the integration of UAS technology and capability into the airport’s regular operations. The consulting services included the development of the Concept of Operations (CONOPS), obtaining FAA certifications, permits, authorizations, and filing of applicable documents, operational tests, stakeholder communications, procurement services, and future capability enhancements. This initial phase included the incorporation of UAS for daytime perimeter surveillance and wildlife management operations. During, Phase II of the UAS Integration, Woolpert will continue to provide consulting services and focus on incorporating additional areas of flight permissions, increased coordination with ATC and other interested stakeholders, and advancing the program at SAV.
