An ordinance to establish zoning for 0.88 acres of land to be annexed into the City. The zoning classification assigned to the parcel will be equivalent to the classification currently assigned by the County. The property is currently zoned Planned Business (P-B) under the Chatham County Zoning Ordinance. Its proposed City zoning is P-B-CO. 

The parcel, located at Ogeechee Road near Chatham Parkway Extension and contiguous to City territory, is owned by Akshar Holdings, LLC. Akshar submitted the petition to annex into the City to gain access to municipal utilities provided by the City. The cost of providing water and sewer service will be fully covered by connection fees and service fees charged to the parcel.

City Council voted to approve the annexation at the meeting of October 26, 2017. The owner plans to develop the site as a mixed-use building with commercial and retail establishments.
