Description

This contract is to procure the rebuilding of a fire truck engine from Cummins Sales and Service in the amount of $26,221. This is to repair fire truck unit 9503 which requires an engine rebuild in order to have the vehicle back in service. The rebuild will include a full engine overhaul kit: pistons, liners, rod, main bearings, cylinder head, injectors, turbo, head gasket, seals, oil, coolant, and filters. Unit 9503 is not scheduled for replacement until 2024 so this repair must be done to avoid any delays in service from the City of Savannah Fire Department. This is a sole source procurement due to the vendor having all of the parts on hand for the repair and also has past experience servicing this engine. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
