Title
13. Motion to Approve Additional Grant Match Contribution for Cuyler-Brownville Historical Resources Survey
Strategic Priority
Neighborhood Revitalization
Description

On Jan, 31, 2019, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah resolved to support the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GADNR) grant application for a Savannah Citywide Historic Neighborhood Survey, Phase III, Part B to complete the survey of the Cuyer-Brownville Neighborhood.  The proposed grant budget of $17,000 included and Federal award of $8,058, cash match from the City of Savannah of $2,686, cash match from Historical Savannah Foundation of $2,686, and $3,570 in-kind contribution for project management staff.

The GADNR letter dated Jun. 27, 2019 notified the City of Savannah of partial funding in the amount of $6,800.

The Metropolitan Planning Commission (MPC), in its capacity as Project Manager for the survey, notified the City of Savannah that the total project budget must remain at $17,000 to complete the survey and requested that the City of Savannah commit additional cash-match funds in the amount of $1,258 to cover the deficit resulting from the partial funding award.  This would amend the City of Savannah's cash contribution from $2,686 ro $3,944.

Recommendation

Amend the City of Savannah Contribution to the Cuyler-Brownville Historical Resources Survey from $2,868 to $3,944
