The City of Savannah is planning to replace the sewer force main that runs within the Oglethorpe Avenue right-of-way. The replacement line will be laid via directional bore deep underneath the right-of-way to avoid disruptions to traffic and businesses. The project will require extensive pipe laydown and assembly areas. One such required area traverses across property owned by the Housing Authority of Savannah (HAS). The City and the HAS have negotiated a ground lease for approximately one-year to facilitate the project. HAS supports the project and is not requiring a rental fee.
