This is a sole-source design contract for Casey South Drainage Improvements with EMC Engineering Services in the amount of $571,100.
 

The Stormwater Department will use this contract to design and develop construction plans for the conveyance of stormwater from the surrounding streets to the Casey Tunnel entrance shaft in Habersham Village. Designing the near-surface piping is necessary to convey stormwater from the surrounding neighborhoods to the future tunnel for discharge into the Casey Canal. This work is a critical component of the overall Casey South drainage improvements.  

EMC Engineering Services performed the original Casey South Drainage Study, which established the basis for the proposed drainage improvements and evaluated the existing drainage conditions and recommended conveyance improvements within the Casey South basin. As a result of this prior work, EMC has extensive knowledge of the study area, existing drainage system, proposed improvements, and technical considerations associated with connecting the neighborhood drainage system to the Casey Tunnel.   EMC Engineering is the only vendor in possession of the required drainage model needed to complete the project.  Therefore, we are requesting to contract with EMC Engineering as a sole source vendor to design the Casey Canal Drainage Improvements project.
