September 13, 2018, City Council Regular Meeting
11. Motion to Approve Annexation of 10.466 Acres on Ogeechee Road near Chatham Parkway (Andrews Commercial Real Estate LLC, Petitioner)
Strategic Priority
Economic Strength And Poverty Reduction

The City of Savannah received an annexation petition for four contiguous parcels with an aggregate of approximately 10.5 acres located on Ogeechee Road (Ga. Highway 17) near Chatham Parkway. The parcels are owned by Andrews Commercial Real Estate LLC. The land under petition is contiguous to existing City territory and therefore can be annexed by ordinance adopted by City Council. As required by State law, Chatham County has been informed of receipt of this petition.

Annexation is being sought by the owner to gain access to the municipal utilities provided by the City. The owner desires to gain access to these services on in-city terms. The cost of providing water and sewer service to the parcel will be fully covered by connection fees and service fees levied by the City for providing service. The proposed future use of the property is a retail restaurant.

David Maxwell, CFO
Financial Impact
The estimated tax increment from this annexation is $5,987 annually. Once the retail restaurant is completed, an additional increment of $10,500 annually is anticipated.
