Description The Deptford Tract Site was once operated by the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah and was a dumpsite from 1921 until 1954. The City of Savannah was identified as a potentially responsible party in 2001 and later submitted a joint Compliance Status Report and supplemental reports with the property owner in 2002. The City of Savannah sought and obtained reimbursement for out-of-pocket costs to date from EPD, in the amount of $353,355 in 2005. Following extensive environmental and ecological risk assessments, a CAP following Type V non-residential risk reduction standards including, on-site management of impacted soils, ground water monitoring alon with institutional and engineering controls were approved by EPD in 2008, and amended in 2017. The current application is for the the City’s share of costs incurred with the approved CAP implementation. | |
