Title 21. Approval to Procure an Airfield Lighting Control System from ADB SafeGate, Inc. in the Amount of $29,959.75
Strategic Priority Good Government
Description The Airfield Lighting Control System (ALCS) is controlled by four separate hardware computer systems located in the airfield lighting vault, the airfield operations facility, and the Air Traffic Control Tower. One of the computers in the airfield lighting vault was purchased in 2012 and has reached its expected life cycle. As these are identified critical devices, the computers are rotated on a specific timeline. The requested lighting computer system has a double node configuration, so should a failure of the primary system occur, a backup would immediately become primary, allowing the ALCS to continue without interruption. This is a budgeted item and a sole source purchase, as ADB SafeGate provides a proprietary operating system for ALCS computers. ADB SafeGate is an approved FAA vendor.
