Description On September 28, 2022, the Mayor issued an Emergency Order activating certain emergency provisions of the Emergency and Disaster Management Ordinance in response to the approach of Hurricane Ian. On September 30, 2022, when the threat posed by Hurricane Ian had passed, the Mayor rescinded the emergency order. Section 3-3003 of the City Code requires that any such declaration be confirmed by resolution of the City Council at either a specially called meeting or the Council’s next regularly scheduled meeting. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Savannah after this weather event is October 13, 2022. Therefore, be it resolved that the Mayor’s September 28, 2022 Emergency Order and Order of September 30, 2022 Rescinding Emergency Order are HEREBY CONFIRMED. | |
