Description

This is a notification of an emergency purchase for the sedimentation basin channel leak repairs from BRW Construction Group, LLC in the amount of $189,493. The six (6) sedimentation basins drain into a common effluent channel prior to the filtration stage of water treatment. There is a leak in the wall structure of this effluent channel that is leaking at an estimated rate of roughly 5-25 gallons per minute. This water is pooling on the ground outside of the basins and next to the administrative building. The water is then seeping into the ground and through the walls in the basement of the administrative building.

This repair is complex because there is no redundancy to this channel, meaning there is no way to bypass with the existing infrastructure. Thus, the contractor is having to construct a dam in order to perform the repair. This involves structural engineering services, considerable materials, and the use of a crane. Water can be incredibly destructive. The longer this repair is put off, more and more damage will occur to the structural walls of the common effluent channel, as well as the structural wall of the administrative building. Increased damage to the structural wall of the common effluent channel could result in mass water outages across the region. Given the nature of this work, a contractor experienced in working on hydraulic structures was required. BRW Construction Group, LLC is known for their on-call and small project experience and was able to quickly assess the situation and provide a quote for services. Delivery: Immediately. Terms: Net 30 days.
