Title 14. Motion to Adopt a Resolution Authorizing the City Manager to Submit a Grant Pre-Application to the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program for the Truman Linear Park Trail Phase IIB in the Amount of $3,000,000
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommendation to authorize the City Manager to submit a grant pre-application to the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program in the amount of $3,000,000. If the City's pre-application is selected to move to the second round, staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to submit the final grant application. If this grant is awarded, the funds will be used to offset the total estimated project cost of $4,813,000 for the Truman Linear Park Trail Phase IIB. This competitive grant requires at least a 25% local match. The existing funds of $1,834,000 allocated to the project, exceed the required local match. By committing to matching up to 38% of the total estimated project costs, the grant application submitted by the City becomes more competitive when rank against other statewide applications. No additional funding commitments are required by the City. The resolution is a required submittal document for the grant pre-application, which is due 10/31/19.
