30. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Land Lease with Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC (AT&T) on Wilmington Island. The City of Savannah owns a +/- 10-acre site on Wilmington Island that houses water and sewer facilities, of which Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC (“AT&T”) currently leases +/- 625 square feet where their telecommunications equipment and cabinets are placed.

Description

The City of Savannah owns a +/- 10-acre site on Wilmington Island that houses water and sewer facilities. Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC (“AT&T”) currently leases a very small portion of this site consisting of +/- 625 square feet where their telecommunications equipment and cabinets are placed. The current lease has expired and the City and AT&T have negotiated a new lease. The annual rental rate will be $500 with a 3% escalation each subsequent year. The new lease term is five-years (2024-2029) with one additional five-year extension (2029-2034). 

 

This Land Lease has been reviewed by the City’s Water Resources Planning and Engineering and by Real Estate Services Departments. Also requested is authorization for the City Manager to finalize and execute the land lease with Bellsouth Telecommunications, LLC (“AT&T”).
