Strategic Priority

Description

The Mayor and Aldermen have undertaken an initiative to bring about the development of blighted, abandoned properties with quality affordable housing. The Chatham County/City of Savannah Land Bank Authority (LBA) requests that the City of Savannah transfer title to nine (9) lots (0 New Castle, 0 Scarborough, 9 Scarborough, 1028 Demmond, 1207 Love, 1260 Comer, 1262 Comer, 1264 Comer, and 1725 Dunn Street) to the LBA. The LBA will make each property available for the development of new affordable housing for occupancy by qualified households. The City has, in the past, similarly transferred blighted property to the LBA for this purpose. The LBA will return no less than 90% of the net sale proceeds to the City of Savannah.
