18. Authorize the City Manager to Execute Contract Modification No. 1 for Elevator Repairs at the Liberty Street Parking Garage with TK Elevator Corporation (LOCAL) in the Amount of $18,359. This modification is needed due to the vendor recommending that a new main brake and new emergency brake be installed to fix the brake issues prior to being able to fix the controller drive. Description

This is for Contract Modification No. 1 for elevator repairs at the Liberty Street Parking Garage from TK Elevator Corporation in the amount of $18,359. The original contract was used for the repairs to fix the controller drive which regulates power to the drive motor and is critical for continued operation of the elevator. This modification is needed due to unforeseen issues with the brakes. The vendor has recommended that a new main brake and new emergency brake be installed to fix the brake issues. This purchase will include a main and emergency brake, hardware, springs, locking plate, brake switch, and bracket.

 

Per Section 2-4152 of the City's Purchasing Ordinance, the city may purchase goods or services through the ise of a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is TK Elevator Corporation, contract #080420. It was competitively bid by Sourcewell and expires on August 8, 2025. This contract was originally approved by the City Manager on July 24, 2024, in the amount of $45,241.80. The total amount of this contract to date, including this modification, is $63,600.07.
