Petitioner Aaron Vantosh has requested a vacant City-owned lot, located at 0 Nephew Street (PIN 20088 03013) in the Bingville Neighborhood, be declared surplus and available for sale. The petition has been reviewed by Public Works and Water Resources, Development Services, Police, Fire, Planning and Urban Design and Real Estate Services. Staff recommend approval to declare this vacant lot surplus and available for sale subject to the following conditions:

• The property is not serviced by City water or sewer utilities. Therefore, the property will be deed restricted to prohibit the development of a building on the property unless the property owner extends requisite public utilities at their own expense. The City will not be responsible for any costs associated with extending utilities to the lot.

The appraised value of the property is $2,700 per the Chatham County Tax Assessors office records. If Council approves declaring this lot available for sale, then staff will procure an appraisal to determine current fair market value and also seek sealed bids from the public via a Request for Bids/Proposals.
