Description

The vacant lot, located at 0 Pounder Street, was declared surplus and available for sale by City Council on February 14, 2008. However, the sale never closed. In response to a recent petition and based on the prior declaration of the parcel as surplus property, staff issued Request for Bid Event #7931, soliciting buyers for the property. Only one response was received at a proposed purchase price of $2,500. The proposer resides adjacent to the property at 101 Pounder Street and wants to use the extra lot to expand her side yard. The appraised value, as established by a well-qualified state certified general appraiser, is $3,300. The City and the sole proposer negotiated the best bid and the parties have agreed to a purchase price of $2,900. Further request approval for City Manager to execute deed and associated closing documents.
