Description This contract is for the purchase of a Carolina Skiff Boat from Custom Marine in the amount of $48,237. This purchase is for a 2022 19’ Carolina Skiff boat to obtain watershed samples to adhere to the water treatment plants’ discharge permits. The watershed is the land area that drains to the stream, lake, or river which may affect the water quality in the surrounding bodies of water. The Water Reclamation Department samples sixteen different sites and conducts multiple analyses on each sample. Approximately 3400 samples are analyzed a year. Carolina Skiff boats are designed with flat bottoms to obtain the depth of water samples.
The bid was advertised twice, once for Savannah First, and again open to everyone, but no responses were received. The department obtained a quote from Custom Marine which was the only supplier to submit a quote.
