| Title 17. Notification of Emergency Procurement of an Odor Control System from Reynolds Construction (Event No. 7096) | |
| Strategic Priority Infrastructure | |
| Description Notification of emergency purchase of an odor control system for President Street Bio-Solids Facility in the amount of $118,449.00. The nature of the emergency is due to the unanticipated odor resulting from sludge precipitates from the new Bio-Solids program initiated by the City of Savannah. This is an interim solution to serve until a permanent solution is installed during the first quarter of 2020. Staff estimates that hauling wet bio-solids to the landfill costs the City $45,000 per month. This emergency procurement will reduce the amount of wet material required to be hauled to the landfill by 85%, thus saving the city approximately $38,250 per month.
