Description

This construction contract with the Polote Corporation is for interior facility upgrades and roof replacement at the Woodville Community Center in the amount of $400,000. The Woodville Community Center, located at 127 Darling Street, is in need of updated finishes, equipment, and fixtures, as well as roof replacement. Interior finishes on the ceilings, walls, and floors are deteriorated, dated, and difficult to maintain. Bathroom and kitchen fixtures are also outdated and frequently require maintenance. This project represents Phase I of a two-phase improvement plan and focuses on an interior refresh of the building and new roof. Work will include replacement of flooring and roof, repainting of walls, and upgrades to kitchen and bathroom fixtures. These improvements will enhance the functionality, appearance, and longevity of the facility.

Phase II, to be completed at a later date, will include expansion of the existing parking lot and the addition of covered seating on a rear patio to further support community use and programming. Per Section 2-4154 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a state contract. The contract used for this procurement is a State of Georgia contract for Indefinite Quantity Construction (Contract# 99999-SPD-S20260602-0014). It was competitively bid by the State of Georgia and expires on June 2, 2027.Recommend approval to authorize the City Manager to execute a contract with the Polote Corporation through the state contract for general construction services for the Woodville Community Center upgrades and roof replacement project in the amount of $400,000.
