Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for fire truck tires with Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company in the estimated amount of $96,915.00.  The fire truck tires will be used by the Fleet Services Department to outfit fire apparatuses.  Savannah Fire Rescue utilize National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1911 guidelines for fire truck repairs.  NFPA 1911 requires that emergency rated tires be installed on a fire apparatus.  In addition, Savannah Fire Rescue is standardizing its fleet of fire apparatuses by purchasing fire trucks from Sutphen Fire Apparatus Company, which recommends that only emergency rated tires be installed on their fire apparatuses.  The emergency rated tires will ensure compliance with NFPA 1911, which contributes to the City’s ISO-1 rating.

No M/WBE goal was originally established due to the absence of subcontracting opportunity.

This contract was originally approved by Council on July 20, 2017.  This is the first of three renewal options available.

The contract term shall be from May 23, 2019 through December 31, 2019.
