Description

This is a Contract Modification No. 2 for Thomas Gamble Building Renovation and Design with Greenline Architecture (LOCAL in the amount of $274,600. This is for additional design services for the Gamble Building Renovation project (PB756).

The City will maximize office efficiency in a manner consistent with modern office space planning standards, albeit within the context of a historic building envelope. The building is currently in poor condition and suffering from extensive deferred maintenance and a lack of capital investment over time. It is anticipated that the building will need work completed, potentially on the exterior as well as the interior. It will be important to have building assessments completed on the various MEP systems, structure, building envelope, environmental, ADA, and life safety conditions in order for the consultants to understand the overall condition of the building and aid the City in developing a renovation scope of work. Please note that this is a renovation project, not
necessarily a restoration project. The renovation project is an opportunity to bring this prime riverfront property back into a healthy and vibrant state of occupancy and productivity.

This modification includes additional services to address program revisions, value engineering, and extended construction administration support. These services are necessary to maintain project continuity and ensure the timely delivery of the project through completion.

The original contract was awarded by Council in the amount of $625,000.  Contract Modification No. 1 was awarded by Council in the amount of $16,625.  Contract Modification No. 2 will bring the new total contract amount to $916,225.
