Recomend approval to renew a contract with SmartForce Technologies, Inc. for Agency Management Software. The Savannah Police Department uses SmartSoftware as its primary web-based software program that allows all members of the department to receive, share, and respond to a variety of different forms of communication covering all aspects of the Savannah Police Department’s daily operations. It offers a centralized location for up to date information, announcements, intelligence, briefings, and other types of communication traditionally routed through email or through other less efficient processes. It can be accessed across all of the department’s communication platforms. The program increases efficiencies within the department and creates information flow that keeps all members of the agency up to date on all crime information and departmental functions. This renewal covers the annual license fee required for continued use of the software.
SmartSoftware was previously purchased by the City and approved by Council on March 28, 2019. This is a sole source because the software is currently installed and is a critical component of the Savannah Police Department’s infrastructure.
