Title Notification of Emergency Procurement of Georgetown Sand Filters Rehabilitation from Aqua-Aerobics Systems (Event No. 5149)
Description Notification of emergency procurement of sand filter rehabilitation services from Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. in the amount of $263,605.00. The services were used by the Water Reclamation Department to rehabilitate the existing sand filters at the Georgetown plant. The sand filter is an integral part of the plant as it provides a high quality of effluent reducing solids to meet plant permit discharge parameters, and has been in service since 1988. The facility experienced an equipment failure on a portion of its effluent filtration process which resulted in effluent discharge that was turbid and not within the City’s internal standards for effluent quality. Aqua-Aerobic Systems, Inc. was selected because it was the first available vendor to respond immediately and is the manufacturer of the filter.
