Description This is a notification of an emergency purchase for water main repairs from Sam-Jay Services in an amount not to exceed $99,446. The Water Distribution Department experienced multiple water lines and main breaks within the City of Savannah. The repairs were needed to fix multiple leaks throughout the City during a state of emergency due to freezing temperatures. During cold weather, multiple water mains fractured when groundwater froze and expanded, doubling the force on underground pipes from 400 to 800 pounds, exacerbating cracks and grinding at weak spots. Sam-Jay was selected due to their ability to respond immediately and do the repairs to meet the City’s requirements. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
