Title 22. Motion to Approve Contract Modification No. 5 for President Street and General McIntosh Improvements with McLendon Enterprises (Event No. 2379)
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 5 for the President Street and General McIntosh improvements project with McLendon Enterprises, Inc. in a net reduction of $105.03 and an additional 127 calendar days. The original contract was for improvements to prevent roadway flooding along this critical evacuation route, to replace and upgrade essential large diameter water and sewer mains along the route, and to facilitate future development of adjacent properties. This contract modification is needed for additional asphalt roadway resurfacing and road improvements adjacent to existing project limits. These improvements repair sections of roadway impacted during the course of the project due to increased detoured traffic volumes. In addition, items include traffic signal timing of the three newly installed traffic signals along President Street and General McIntosh Boulevard, replacement of Marriott service drive entrance (necessary due to property swap), and deduct items in the original contract determined to not be required during construction. The original contract was approved by Council on September 18, 2014 in the amount of $28,051,221.68. The total cost of this contract to date, including this modification, is $28,941,934.56. Recommend approval of Contract Modification No. 5 for the President Street and General McIntosh improvements project with McLendon Enterprises, Inc. in a net reduction of $105.03 and an additional 127 calendar days bringing the completion date to May 31, 2018.
