Description

This contract is to procure an automated solid phase extractor from Biotage in the amount of $55,070. The Water Reclamation Department is requesting the purchase of an automated solid phase extractor Biotage Horizon 5000, which is used to prepare samples for analysis as part of a permit at the Crossroads Plant. The new extractor will replace a piece of equipment that is ten years old and is no longer operable. This equipment significantly reduces the time, space, and volume of sample and reagents used during the extraction process. The extractor also saves time by extracting three separate samples. The Biotage Horizon 5000 uses a smaller sample volume and significantly fewer solvents for the process. Reducing the volume used and waste generated reduces cost and improves safety conditions. The Biotage Horizon 5000 also has the capacity to run 250 pollutant compounds.

This is a sole source because the software is compatible with the existing equipment. Delivery: As needed. Terms: Net 30 days.
