Description
The Bauer Verticus Air System will be assigned to the Commission’s Operations Department for use by the 165th Airlift Wing Fire and Emergency Services in the event of a fire or emergency response. The system has a 4,500 PSI rating, which is required to support firefighter self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). This procurement is requested as an emergency purchase, due to a critical safety need to ensure uninterrupted fire and emergency response capabilities. The Bauer Verticus Air System is compliant with applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards, including NFPA 1989 (Standard on Breathing Air Quality for Emergency Services Respiratory Protection) and NFPA 1901 (Standard for Automotive Fire Apparatus), ensuring the provision of safe, breathable air at required pressure levels for firefighter operations meeting ensuring the provision of pressure levels meeting the 139 ARFF requirements.
