Strategic Priority
N/A
Description

This contract is for an annual contract for Digital Preservation with Preservica in the amount of $114,675. The City of Savannah Municipal Archives Department requires a secure, compliant, and sustainable digital preservation solution to properly manage and retain official electronic permanent-retention records. As the volume of digital content continues to grow, legacy storage methods and shared drives do not provide the long-term preservation controls, audit defensibility, or scalability necessary to meet public records, transparency, and retention obligations. The Preservica Core SaaS solution provides a purpose-built digital preservation platform designed to protect, manage, and ensure long-term accessibility of historically significant and legally required records.

This implementation establishes a structured foundation for digital records governance while aligning with best practices for future scalability, including potential integration with Microsoft Purview should the City elect to expand enterprise records automation capabilities. Adoption of this solution mitigates compliance risk, strengthens records integrity, improves accessibility for authorized users, and positions the City to responsibly manage digital records growth in a cost-effective and sustainable manner.

Per section 2-4152 of the City’s Purchasing Ordinance, the City may purchase goods or services through the use of a cooperative contract. The contract used for this procurement is a GSA contract # 47QTCA23D006Z.
