Title 18. Authorize the City Manager to Execute a Contract for Decorative Lighting with Georgia Power for Phase III of the Revitalizing Waters Avenue Project in the Amount of $250,000.
Strategic Priority Infrastructure
Description This is for a lighting contract with Georgia Power for the Waters Avenue Streetscape Phase III Revitalization in the amount of $250,000.
This contract is for decorative lights for the Waters Avenue Streetscape Project Phase III. This is the section between 37th Street and the Victory Drive Right-of-Way. The proposed lighting plan includes 39 lights throughout Phase III. Georgia Power will be responsible for providing and installing all components of the lighting system, and will be fully responsible for the operation, service, maintenance, and any necessary repairs of the installation for the duration of the agreement. The lights are post top style with banners arms on one side and AC receptacles. These lights are the same lights that Georgia Power installed as part of the Phase I and II portions of the project. This is a sole-sourced procurement based on Georgia Power’s unique position to provide the City light fixtures, its power, and associated equipment as owner of these. The proposed lease agreement, which also sets forth a monthly cost to be paid by Traffic Engineering for the street lights as an operational expense, has been reviewed and agreed to by authorized representatives.
