Description

This is for a modification of an engineering agreement with Thomas & Hutton Engineering for the Ogeechee Road Water and Sewer Relocation project in the amount of $83,100.

This modification is necessary due to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) planning to widen Ogeechee Road from I-516 to Victory Drive. The new construction will impact numerous City of Savannah water and sewer mains, which will need to be relocated. Additional funds are necessary as GDOT has revised the project where Ogeechee Road turns into Victory Drive. Thus, the water and sewer utility plans must be revised to reflect these changes to the roadway plans. Additionally, GDOT will no longer accept plans in AutoCAD format, thus the utility plans must be converted into Microstation format.

The original $240,822 contract was approved on the July 20, 2017, Council Meeting (WT-140 – Large Tract Infrastructure). The total amount approved including this modification will be $323,922.
