Description Recommend approval to execute a contract renewal for grounds maintenance for Public Rights of Way (PROW) to J. Corbett Enterprises, Inc. (Savannah, GA)(E) for up to $1,286,315.40 and to Samjay Services, Inc (Savannah, GA)(E) for up to $285,887.60. The Greenscapes Department will use the contract to provide for grounds maintenance services on various access roads, canals, ditches and their associated rights-of-way, easements, maintenance ways, medians, and street and highway rights-of-way within the City limits. The contractor is to furnish all labor, equipment, fuel and other necessary items to maintain all rights-of-way specified in the bid contract to include, where applicable: mowing; edging curbs; edging sidewalks; blowing off streets, curbs and sidewalks; trash and debris pick-up prior to mowing (included with every mow); maintaining six feet around guardrails; maintaining at least six feet from the top of slope downhill and at least six feet from the toe of the slope uphill; maintaining around storm ditch head walls along the rights-of-way; and breaking the top of a ditch crest to the existing water level (or bottom if dry) where a ditch follows the rights-of-way. Specified work must be completed satisfactorily within the designated maintenance cycle: Zone Rights-of Way (157 miles) are to be maintained on a three week cycle from April-November; Medians and Adjacent Rights-of-Ways (69 miles) are on a two week cycle between April-November and a monthly cycle for Medians only December-March; and Canals (101 miles) are to be maintained on a four month cycle. The original contract was bid and approved by Council on February 27, 2020. This is the first of three renewal options available. (E) Indicates local, DBE-owned business possessing a City Business Tax Certificate for less than one year. | |
