Strategic Priority
Good Government
Description

The City of Savannah has petitioned the Army Donations Program Office in the Integrated Logistics Support Center of the U.S. Army TACOM Life Cycle Management Command for conditional loan of surplus Army equipment for static display in Veterans Memorial Park, to be located at the southern terminus of the Truman Parkway along the Abercorn Street Extension/Ga. 204.

A resolution of support from City Council is required as part of this request. If approved, the City of Savannah will be responsible for all release, demilitarization, display site preparation and transportation costs associated with the conditional loan of the display equipment. The City has requested a condemned helicopter and/or tank. The equipment will remain property of the U.S. Government, and would be returned to the U.S. Army if no longer needed by the City of Savannah.
