Description
Recommend approval to renew an annual contract for bioxide with Evoqua Water Technologies in the estimated amount of $117,000.00. Bioxide (calcium nitrate) is used as an additive to sewage/sanitary sewer at sanitary sewer lift stations to remove hydrogen sulfide and help control odor. Hydrogen sulfide causes odors at different sites in the City of Savannah, along with corrosion of the sanitary sewer system assets, such as sewer mains, manholes and lift stations. Bioxide enhances naturally occurring biochemical processes to accomplish sulfide removal.
This is the final renewal option available under this contract. Bids were originally received on March 22, 2016. Council originally approved this contract on April 14, 2016.
The contract term shall be from June 6, 2019 through June 5, 2020.
