The Commission advertised a Request for Quotations (RFQ 22024-0022) for the installation of four (4) speed humps on Melaver Drive. The Airport received two bids, and one bid did not meet the specifications as the proposal included a cost for rubber speed humps. Melaver Drive connects the terminal ramp with the Airport's fuel storage facility and Terminal Services building and is heavily utilized by tenant delivery trucks, Customs vehicles, air traffic controllers, fuel trucks, and ground service equipment. With the completion of the North Rental Lot improvements, the traffic on Melaver Drive has drastically increased with the addition of the rental cars and rideshare vehicle traffic. This project will entail the installation of (4) speed humps 25’ wide to eliminate the ability to drive around the existing traffic barricades, thus slowing down the traffic on that road.
