Description Recommend approval to procure services for an economic impact study of tourism by Tourism Economics, LLC in the amount of $40,000.00. An in-depth analysis is needed to fully understand the economic impact that tourism has on the community and on municipal services. This study will evaluate the economic and social impact of tourism, and will include a cost-benefit analysis identifying the direct and indirect costs associated with tourism within the City of Savannah. It will also evaluate the impact on City services and quality of residential life. The analysis will quantify the economic impact of tourism in detail, as well as the costs and benefits of sustaining the tourism sector. The full economic value of tourism will be measured by looking at direct, indirect, and induced impacts, while costs will be measured by looking at social and municipal services costs, such as traffic and congestion. | |
