Description Recommend approval to procure a replacement ladder truck for Savannah Fire Department from Spartan Motors Inc. in the amount of $1,590,798. The Savannah Fire Department will use the ladder truck to replace unit no. 7510 which is experiencing frequent breakdowns resulting in significant downtime to the department’s operations. This purchase is in line with the City’s Strategic Plan and top priority of providing public safety. The industry standard build time for a ladder truck meeting specification is 16 months. The vendor has guaranteed delivery in 12 months from receipt of a purchase order. Payment will be due upon delivery of the ladder truck and after training has been completed on site in Savannah, which is projected for June 2021. This purchase will be made using the Sourcewell Cooperative. The contract was competitively bid by Sourcewell and awarded to Spartan Motors, Inc. The contract expires on April 16, 2022. The City of Savannah’s purchasing ordinance Section 2-4152 authorizes the use of cooperative purchasing agreements. | |
