Description Recommend approval to procure a replacement wheel loader from Yancey Brothers Caterpillar in the amount of $106,380. Yancey Brothers is the authorized distributor of Caterpillar, Inc. in the state of Georgia. The Fleet Services Department will use the wheel loader to replace unit No. 1224 which is on the vehicle replacement list for 2020. The wheel loader will be used by the Street Maintenance Department for lane grading, shoulder maintenance, and containment of emergency spills. Updating the equipment is a necessary requirement to maintain current operations. This purchase will be made using the Sourcewell Cooperative. The contract was competitively bid by Sourcewell and awarded to Caterpillar, Inc. for its distributors. The contract expires on May 13, 2023. The City of Savannah’s purchasing ordinance Section 2-4152 authorizes the use of cooperative purchasing agreements. | |
